A Nerf attachment is a Nerf product that is made for attaching to a Nerf blaster. Nerf has three major attachment-points:
The Nerf Tactical Rail, this rail is found on most Nerf blasters from the N-Strike, Elite, Elite 2.0, Mega, Modulus, Ultra, Fortnite, Zombie Strike and ICON series. This rail can be used to slide on Nerf accesories that are made for the Tactical Rail. The Tactical Rail is (I think) based on the picatinny rail, used as an attachment-rail for real firearms.
The Nerf Barrel Attachment point, this is an orange attachment point on most normal Nerf blasters. Barrel attachments can be pushed onto the front of a compatible blaster and then twisted to lock into place. Barrel attachments do not offer any performance boost, like real firearms have longer barrels for better performance. Nerf barrel attachments are just for show or tacticality.
The Nerf Stock Attachment point, this is an attachment point for shoulder stocks, located at the backside of a blaster. This point is used to attach shoulder stocks to your blaster for better looks, comfort, or tacticality.
